About Me

Wanying Lin was born in 1995 in Fujian, China. She initially studied organ at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, China. Thanks to an organ academy in Leipzig, she discovered her fascination for European organ culture and decided to move to Europe to continue her education there. From 2016 to 2022, Wanying Lin studied organ and church music in Ludger Lohmann's class at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart (Germany). A scholarship enabled her to study at the "institut supérieur des arts" and the "Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional" in Toulouse in the 2020/2021 academic year. Here she continued her studies in the classes of Michel Bouvard and Yves Rechsteiner. In 2024, she completed her concert exam studies with Prof. Henry Fairs at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and became a lecturer in organ performance at UdK.

Wanying Lin has won numerous prizes at international organ competitions. Among others, she won first place twice at the "Infei International Tournament of Organ" in China. During her studies, she received several scholarships, including the first prize of the state scholarship in China (2012). She has also taken part in numerous organ festivals, such as the "European Organ Academy Leipzig", the "International Organ Festival Haarlem" and the "Thüringische Orgelakademie". Masterclasses with Daniel Roth, Michael Radulescu, Wolfgang Zerer and Hans-Ola Ericsson (among others) complement her training.

She regularly plays concerts in China, Germany, France and Spain. As a composer, Wanying Lin has composed "Monologue" for organ and electronic music, which was premiered by the association "ALEA" (Associazione Laboratorio Espressioni Artistiche), in Savorgnano (Italy). Most recently, she successfully performed the Chinese orchestral piece "Tang Resonating" - arranged by her for organ, percussion and Chinese zither - at the "Orgelspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" festival. She is also the choirmaster of the Dahlem Kantorei and the Martha Choir in Berlin.

I provide organ and piano lessons, available both online and in-person (in Berlin). The curriculum encompasses a range of musical styles, including classical, jazz, and pop. All age groups are welcome. For specific details, please feel free to contact me.
